A chronic progressive and degenerative neurological disease that affects the neurons situated in the area of brain that controls movements. This presentation provides an insight into the causes, classical symptoms, pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment for Parkinson’s disease.

Richard Davenport, DM, FRCP, is a consultant Neurologist at the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, Western General Hospital, Edinburgh, an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh and is associated with the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. Dr. Davenport runs weekly clinics in general  neurology, movement disorders and “first seizure” in Edinburgh.
