Nociceptive pain

Pain, an unpleasant, distressing sensation associated with the actual or potential damage to tissues, is categorized into two main types - nociceptive pain and neuropathic pain. Nociceptive pain is caused by the activation of peripheral nerve endings by stimuli that are nearly of or exceed harmful intensity, and commonly manifest as burning or aching sensations.
